School of Nations

The School of Nations is located on the edge of the jungle in Sto. Nino/Puerto Galera on the island of Mindoro. There are many families living in this area who are not even able to afford 600 pesos, which is 12 euros for the monthly school fees. For this reason, many children cannot go to school there.
Through this school, these people are offered a chance for a better life. In 2018, the school received permission from the Ministry of Education to fully institutionalize its courses and run senior high school programs/courses. The quality of teaching is monitored by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

School of Nations

Philosophy

Only with proper school education can these poor people take charge of their own lives. “It is more important, to teach them how to catch the fish, than to give them money, to buy the fish”, is the philosophy of the school owners Cheryl & John Nepomuceno-Kim.

Courses

Through courses such as Computer System Servicing NC II, Consumer Electronics NC II, and Food & Beverage Services NC II, students are trained with essential skills.

Projects

Continually expanding the school and broadening the educational offerings through donor-funded projects helps to teach new skills and to put smiles on the children’s faces.

Helping the School Together!

In order to keep the school running and to teach the children essential skills, the School of Nations is in urgent need of donations. We would be pleased if you would support the activities of our association with a donation. The money will be forwarded 100% to the school and used for construction and maintenance.
