From February 12 to 20, 2024, I was in Puertogalera/Philippines with our granddaughter Vivienne to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the “School of Nations Puertogalera/Philippines” with the school management, the students and their parents. Our granddaughter Vivienne, who is studying communication sciences in Berlin, stayed there and worked as an “assistant teacher” for a few more weeks. On the occasion of these wonderful and heart-warming celebrations, we paid tribute to the school’s long-standing sponsors and supporters and thanked them all warmly for their great financial and personal commitment. As a special sign of recognition and gratitude, the particularly “generous donors” received a “Certificate of Recognition”. We hope that we were able to make the supporters a little happy.
Below are some pictures of the school celebration and the wonderful performances by the students and teachers, so that you can get an impression of the successful work at the school and of the warmth and joie de vivre of the people in the Philippines, despite the widespread poverty there.
